Présentation
The Auvergne is one of the last regions of France to remain undiscovered by the British which means that its superb quality of life is within reach of most pockets.
Variety is endless, from extinct volcanoes, to deep lakes, snow capped mountains and sunny plains. The villages and towns reflect this diversity and there are activities for all from opera to French bowls, skiing to white water rafting. It is a year-long destination as the climate is wonderful with hot summers and cold but very dry and bright winters.
If you appreciate good food, the Auvergne is a delight. Famous for its cheeses, charcuterie and beef, it is still possible to eat extremely well and very cheaply. Apart from the traditional local dishes, the Auvergnats love to try other cooking styles, so there is no chance of a jaded palate!
